It’s almost May can you believe it?! We have had a beautiful April so far. I’m a little later getting our front porch ready for Spring this year. When we built this house three years ago the plan was to stain our front and back patios. Well we decided to finally DIY the front one […]
Each spring one of my favorite things to do is to clean up our outside patio and give it a fresh look for the upcoming season! This year I had in mind to do black and white to go with our home exterior. Old Time Pottery had the exact rug I was looking for! I […]
This might be one of my favorite makeovers yet! I love decorating for the girls and I’m so thankful they still let me! With them getting older, they are moving away from a “playroom” and more towards a “hangout”. A space where they can play games, watch movies, and hangout with friends. We have the […]
Before I start this post I just want to say I am not an artist by any means! I kept seeing these textured art pieces all over Pinterest and thought maybe I can make one! I do not have the thousands of dollars to spend on a piece of art. Plus I don’t want to […]
It’s not quite summer yet even though it feels like it here. I still wanted to go ahead and get our house ready for the next season. I don’t do much decorating in the summer months. With the kids out of school, there’s a lot of messes and just not enough time. I started in the kitchen adding some new decor. All of it is from Old Time Pottery!
I started with a new black and white runner for in front of the sink. I love how it feels under foot and it goes perfectly with our kitchen.
Old Time Pottery has all kinds of kitchen decor and storage pieces. I added new shelf decor including, glassware, bowls, canisters, etc. They also have all kinds of vases and little lamps that are great for a countertop.
I cut the cord on this little lamp like my other one. The lightbulb is a battery powered, remote one from Amazon. I think there are also rechargeable ones now that make cutting the cord even better.
I kept everything either wood, white or black for the shelves.
They also have a great selection of summer florals. I brought in a little yellow with these flowers and lemons.
I don’t like a lot of clutter in my kitchen. It seems to get so messy anyway, especially the island!
I love that I can decorate these shelves without putting a lot on my counters.
For the island I purchased a wooden lazy Susan that makes it easy for us to grab napkins or salt and pepper.
I added more lemons and greenery here. I love lemons for summer.
For our hutch area, I styled the shelves and set up a serving spot.
We keep all of our glass and serve ware in the these cabinets so its easy to set up our serving area right here when we have guests.
Old Time Pottery has so many glasses to choose from. I loved that these had the same hexagon pattern like the canisters.
More black and white and wood pieces to go with the rest. You can never have too many of these little serving dishes in my opinion! Anything white, like this pitcher and pedestal are timeless.
If you stick to mostly neutral pieces, then you can move them around and swap them out like I do. I like to add in different accents for the season but mostly keep it simple and timeless.
I also found a cookbook holder and utensil holder at Old Time Pottery. They really have everything!
I hope you enjoyed this brief moment our kitchen was clean and free of clutter! ;). These pretty pieces make me want to keep it this way.
Thank you to Old Time Pottery for providing me with all of this great, functional and stylish decor!
