We are welcoming Spring to our home this week with a bit of new decor from Old Time Pottery! I decided to refresh the entry table first since it’s the first thing you see as you come in the house. This is one of my favorite spaces to change up for the seasons. As always, […]
Before I start this post I just want to say I am not an artist by any means! I kept seeing these textured art pieces all over Pinterest and thought maybe I can make one! I do not have the thousands of dollars to spend on a piece of art. Plus I don’t want to […]
With all of the rain we’ve had lately I’m expecting a super turn out of flowers this Spring! Since it’s been so gloomy lately, I decided to cheer up the indoors with some faux florals. My favorite place for seasonal décor, Old Time Pottery, has some of the prettiest Spring florals! I just love the […]
Today I’m sharing with you this easy DIY Rustic Candlestick Holder. When I saw this on Liz Marie Blog I knew it would look great in our dining room! It makes a big statement but is still simple and sleek. Plus all of these candles add a cozy glow perfect for winter. This was super […]
We inherited an extra bedroom when we finished the space over our basement. Previously it was mostly used for old furniture and storage but I thought it’d be nice to make it into a guest room!
I sold our old bed and bought this inexpensive upholstered bed. It looks so much fresher and comfy!
Here is before:
Not terrible, but could definitely use some sprucing. I love the light and airy feel of the new bed and white bedding!
Everything in this new space is from Old Time Pottery except for the bed! I went with a white quilt and a grey one for the foot of the bed. I added a little color with the dusty mauve pillows.
I loved the herringbone patterns on these throw pillows. We have herringbone pattern going on in the other rooms upstairs and I wanted to tie them together somehow. They had so many pillows to choose from!
Once I chose the new bedding, I knew I needed a new side table. I liked the idea of the contrasting black table. It has simple lines and a drawer to store remotes and things.
When I think of guest room essentials, I knew we would need a clock and lamp for the table. Old Time Pottery has a great selection of both. I also chose this frame to share our wifi password. They have all kinds of picture frames. This is an easy, fun way to let your guests know your password.
I loved this gray floral print to coordinate with the bedding. The wooden frame adds warmth to the white walls. This white basket weave lamp is perfect for this space.
Another way I chose to break up the space and add warmth is with this neutral striped rug. Old Time Pottery has many styles and sizes of rugs to choose from.
I added this basket trunk to the end of the bed for guests to put their luggage on and to hold extra linens.
Old Time Pottery is my go to for any type of baskets! This wicker tray is perfect for a few other guest essentials.
Here I have bottled water, fancy soaps, a washcloth, candle and a phone charger. What else would you put in your guest basket?
The faux ficus tree on the other side of the bed really adds much needed greenery to the room. The height is perfect. Bonus-it was only $40!
I think we’re all ready for our first guest! Tell me in the comments if I forgot any guest essentials!
Thank you so much to Old Time Pottery for furnishing our new guest room!
I would definitely stay there. Looks good!!
